Developing a biological control product and a quality control system

To the development of Hungarian environmentally sound (ecological and integrated) plant production systems is needed the sufficient availability of biological control products on the market. Hungarian environmental conditions markedly different from the West European ones, so products elaborated in other parts of Europe have limited application potential in Hungary, therefore specific product development needed to the Hungarian market. Qualitiy control of biocontrol agents is essential to provide effective control potential of biological control products. The aim of the present project is elaborating a quality control system with reference to producing of entomopathogenic nematodes as biocontrol agents. The project includes the development of quality assessement protocols for strain conservation procedures, the nematode production, and formulated products.
